Recently my husband, two daughters and I were in the car coming home from an event when I overheard a priceless conversation. My three-year old said to my two-year old, "When I grow up I want to be a doctor. What do you want to be when you grow up?" My two-year old responded, "Happy."
As adults, we often get caught up in the stress and the responsibilities of our 'big people' lives. With so much to do and deadlines looming, it is no wonder we lose perspective from time to time. But, it is important to stop every now and then to remind yourself what it is you really want. Likely when you begin to think about it, you'll come up with the same answer that was so clear for my two-year old baby girl...to be happy.
