Let’s be honest — this kind of moment doesn’t come easy to me.

As a sole parent and entrepreneur of the Executive Coaching firm Potential Unlimited, I’m used to being the one holding it all together. The one who keeps going, even when the tank is running low. Rest? That used to feel like something I had to earn.

But here’s what I’ve come to realize:

You don’t have to earn your rest. You need it — because the world needs the best version of you.

This picture — taken during a day with two close friends at a peaceful outdoor spa — represents more than a break. It’s a reset. A quiet reclaiming of the energy and clarity that so many of us leaders give away so freely.

✨ 3 Leadership Lessons from Slowing Down

  1. Pushing Through Isn’t Always Power Resilience isn’t about always being strong. It’s about knowing when to pause, recharge, and come back stronger.

  2. Your Presence Is a Superpower True leadership isn’t just performance — it’s presence. And presence starts with being present with yourself.

  3. Stillness Fuels Strategy Every bold vision I’ve ever created came in a quiet moment, not during back-to-back Zoom calls. When we pause, we think deeper. Clearer. Braver.

🧭 My Challenge to You This Week:

Make space. Not because you “deserve” it — but because you require it to keep showing up as the leader, parent, partner, or visionary you’re meant to be.

Go for a walk. Sit in nature. Call a friend. Or spend a few hours doing absolutely nothing. And let that be enough.

When you stop to restore yourself, you don’t fall behind — you lead from ahead.
