Carey-Ann Oestreicher, MBA, MCC, CEO & Lead Executive Coach, Potential Unlimited

Carey-Ann Oestreicher (pronounced O-striker) is an award-winning executive coach, keynote speaker, and leadership expert who helps leaders navigate pressure, complexity, and constant change while strengthening their ability to lead themselves and others.

As a Master Certified Coach (MCC)—the highest Leadership Coaching designation earned by only 3% of coaches worldwide—Carey-Ann brings nearly two decades of executive coaching experience, an MBA, and firsthand experience as a corporate Vice President to her work with leaders and organizations.

Having worked with senior executives and leadership teams across corporate, government, healthcare, professional service firms, and non-profit sectors, she understands the realities of leadership: the competing demands, difficult decisions, relentless pace of change, and responsibility that comes with leading others.

Her work is grounded in a belief that is becoming increasingly important in today's world: Human Leadership is not simply a leadership philosophy. It is a competitive advantage.

As technology accelerates and the demands on leaders intensify, the distinctly human capabilities of leadership—self-awareness, resilience, empathy, sound judgment, trust, and meaningful connection—have never mattered more.

Carey-Ann helps leaders strengthen these capabilities so they can navigate uncertainty with greater clarity, lead with confidence and intention, build stronger teams, and achieve sustainable performance without losing themselves along the way.

Her professional accomplishments include being named one of Canada's Top 40 Under Forty (2014), membership in the invitation-only Forbes Coaches Council, and recognition as a Top Inspiring Leader to Watch. She is also certified in the Leadership Circle Profile 360® and Leadership Culture Survey, helping leaders gain deeper insight into their effectiveness and the cultures they create.

The Experiences That Shaped My Perspective

Behind every leadership philosophy is a story. Mine has been shaped as much by life as by my career.

Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with extraordinary leaders navigating some of the most demanding moments of their professional lives. I've also experienced firsthand what happens when life asks more of us than we ever imagined we could carry.

A traumatic brain injury changed the way I understood resilience and recovery. Losing my father, supporting my husband through cancer, and eventually losing him while raising our two daughters and running a business challenged everything I thought I knew about strength, success, and what it means to keep moving forward.

There were moments when simply getting through the day required more than I thought I had to give.

Those experiences didn't give me all the answers. They gave me a different perspective.

I learned that resilience isn't about being endlessly strong. That leadership isn't about having all the answers. And that success means very little if we lose ourselves in the process of achieving it.

Perhaps most importantly, I came to understand that how we lead ourselves directly influences how effectively we lead others.

When we're constantly operating under pressure, pushing through exhaustion, or trying to control everything around us, it affects more than our well-being. It shapes our judgment, our relationships, our ability to connect, and the impact we have on the people who depend on us.

But there is another way.

We can learn to respond rather than react. To lead with both empathy and accountability. To create space for clearer thinking, stronger relationships, and more intentional decisions. To be resilient without believing we have to carry everything alone.

And we can pursue meaningful results without sacrificing the very things that make those results worthwhile.

Why This Work Matters to Me

I believe the most effective leaders aren't necessarily the ones who do the most, know the most, or push the hardest.

They're the ones who understand themselves, recognize their impact on others, and have the courage to lead with both humanity and intention—even when the pressure is on.

Through executive coaching, keynote speaking, leadership development, and group coaching, I bring together executive experience, evidence-informed practices, practical leadership strategies, and the perspective that comes from navigating life's unexpected challenges.

My goal isn't to give leaders another set of expectations to live up to. It's to help them discover a more effective and sustainable way to lead—one that strengthens their performance, their relationships, their organizations, and themselves.

Because I believe we shouldn't have to choose between being successful and being human.

The way we lead matters. Not only for the results we achieve, but for the people we become and the impact we leave along the way.
